Lories Delight - Feeding Instructions

LORIIDAE PRODUCTION NETWORK
Instructions for feeding "Lories Delight"

"Lories Delight" may be fed in Three different forms:

NECTAR: Mix one cup of "Lories Delight" with 1/2 cup of applesauce and blend with three cups of water. ( As an alternative for variety , take 1 cup of "Lories Delight" with 1carrot, 1 apple, 1 banana, and 1/2 cup of honey, and mix together in a blender with 6 cups of water.)

DRY: Just as it comes from the package.

HANDFEEDING: Mix equal parts of "Lories Delight" with your favorite commercial H/F formula ( such as "Kaytee" or "Pretty Bird", etc.) together in the dry powder form. Take this mixture in the amount needed for each feeding and combine with enough hot ( 100 -102 degrees F.) water to form a pea soup consistency. Throw away any excess and make fresh for each feeding.

"Lories Delight" will last six months at room temperature in the sealed polybags. Once opened, it should be put into an air - tight container and refrigerated.

The nectar should be fed in a separate container from the dry form. Do not use the same receptacles as this will re- sult in wastefulness. In hot weather, above 85 degrees F., any nectar that has not been consumed within three hrs. should be discarded. This is due to the fact that the fruit and fructose in the mixture will ferment. Cooler weather will permit the nectar to be left with the bird for up to eight hours depending on the degree of temperature.
